Di Matteo keen on Torres reunion

that Schalke are ready to make a move for Fernando Torres, with the striker finally set to be permanently offloaded by Chelsea.

The Spain international moved to AC Milan on loan in August following the signing of Diego Costa and the return of Didier Drogba, while Loic Remy’s arrival at Stamford Bridge further lessened the ex-Liverpool man’s chances of reviving his career with the Blues.

He moved to Chelsea half way through the 2010/11 campaign and largely disappointed with just twenty goals in one hundred and ten Premier League appearances.

He did score a further twenty-five goals across other competitions and was part of the squads that won the Europa League in 2013 and the FA Cup and Champions League twelve months earlier.

Roberto Di Matteo, who led Chelsea to that double two seasons ago recently took charge at Schalke, and looks set to opt for a reunion.
